Typically, when a person thinks on death they think of – darkness, dust and worms. The thoughts provoke fear and discomfort. While in Middle Island, New York I saw this tombstone and just knew I had to take the shot.
Randall Pond is one of those areas that fascinates me. It has a quiet beauty that brings peace to the mind and soul and I never fail to enjoy any of my walks there.
So much so, that I have decided to do a series of photos from this beautiful site. “A Year at Randall Pond” will be exhibited at the Longwood Public Library in November of 2009.
Keep watching as the months unfold. See July’s photos now …

The ocean has always been a favorite place for me. I guess because in it’s beauty I see a paradox. Strength and peacefulness in one body. This strength of the ocean was very apparent when I went to visit the Smith Point State Park during a wind advisory. After walking through the tunnel from the [...]
I think the beauty of spring can be captured anywhere. No need to get in the car and pay over $4 a gallon for gas — just walk in your yard and bask in the beauty that surrounds you. I started this journey through my yard to take photos of the blooming dogwood for my [...]

These pictures were taken at the same time as the Randell Pond pictures were taken. In fact they were taken in the parking lot across from the Randall Pond Trail Head. I walked over to take a close up of the thistle itself and was greeted with a multitude of flying butterflies, bees and other [...]

If you have read my blog on ‘Futures’ then you know that my time spent in New York City trying to capture the feel of that great city in pictures was a bust — besides the picture Futures. So, I was left with a great many pictures that seemed to have no purpose – may [...]
This photograph was taken on the streets of Soho, New York, New York. I tried to take pictures of the city to expand my portfolio but could not seem to pickup the emotion I felt there. The excitement, the stress, the never-stop rush that I always feel when I am there. Unfortunately, when I tried [...]
The Long Island Museum and King Kullen teamed up for a Family Fun Day to celebrate the fall and Halloween on October 26th, 2008. The Long Island Museum staff worked hard to setup a safe fun place for families to gather and enjoy the day. And the weather could not have been better! Sunny – [...]
The October 24th issue of the Long Island Newsday recently wrote an article about the Midnight Oils Exhibition in which I had a piece of my work. During the reception, several of the artists were interviewed — including myself. I anxiously awaited for the article to run hoping that I might have received a small [...]
